Ecommerce Campaigns for Local Best of Contests

Challenge
I've built around 150 websites for contesting at Lee Enterprises. This was a new revenue stream, which I was put in charge of as developing the Products, Fulfillment, Finances and Ecommerce from the ground up. I worked with a product vendor to create a set of SWAG items and negotiated pricing. I also design and create all the product preview images, using different logos, colors and backgrounds for each market. Then, I contacted all our Lee markets and started building Ecommerce websites that could sell to our local Best of winners.

Goal
Because the volume of website buildswas going to be high -- sometimes 3-4 website builds per week -- I needed to build a quick, nimble platform that could be scaled and deployed very quickly. I also needed a way to get orders from the website to the printing presses by exporting a set of fields that wasn't native to Shopify. I used a Shopify App and configured custom fields to meet the printing requirements. The ecosystem I created was able to build a new website from scratch in a half a day, freeing up time for other meetings and market communication.

Solution
Using Shopify, I created a templated Ecommerce website that is designed to get users to the cart as fast as possible. I also built a custom reporting solution for myself and our markets to export orders to send to their printers quickly. This project nets a few hundred thousand in revenue each year for Lee Enterprises.
